NOVEMBER 26, 2014

The Eastern Cape Liquor Board has approved 12 applications for liquor licenses from Nelson Mandela Bay so far this month.

Details of the applications for on/off premises consumption and special events have been published in the Provincial Gazette.

Three of the successful applications were for premises in Central with the others spread across the remainder of Nelson Mandela Bay.

The Liquor Board says in its six-monthly report to September 30 that the Eastern Cape is the “fourth largest contribu-tor to the liquor industry and it currently spends over R6 billion on alcohol consumption through off-consumption trade”.
