15 arrested in King Williams Town crime blitz for drug dealing, murder and drunk driving

Crime Intelligence driven operation led to the arrest of two men aged 36 and 42 for possession of tik and  suspected stolen property on Sunday.

"Information received led to the police to an entertainment centre in King Williams Town where they arrested the 36 year-old man for the possession of seven small plastic of tik to the street value of R1 100 and the 42 year-old man for  possession of suspected stolen property," Eastern Cape police said.

In a separate incident, King Williams Town police arrested more than ten suspects for driving under the influence of liquor on Sunday night at about 20h00 around the town's CBD area.

The 10 suspects are expected to appear before the King Williams Town Magistrate’s Court on Monday for driving under the influence of liquor.

In another incident, three suspects, aged between 24 and 30, were arrested for murder.

"The murder occurred after the deceased had a fight on Friday with the suspects and yesterday (Sunday), he went to the suspects house where he was stabbed several times and died on the scene," Eastern Cape police said.

"Thorough investigation led police to the house of the suspects and arrested them for murder."

The suspects are expected to appear in King Williams Town Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday facing charges of murder.
