Two Butterworth men busted with dagga worth nearly R30 000

A joint operation between Butterworth Police and Mnquma Traffic Officers has had a huge success.

"The operation resulted in the arrests of two men aged 34 and 37 respectively," said police spokesperson, Capt Jackson Manatha.

"Both suspects were arrested along N2 road Butterworth with dagga. The two suspects were arrested on Monday, at about 11:30."

Captain Manatha said that the 34-year-old suspect was found with dagga that has weight of 13,10kg with a street value of R13.000.

"The 37-year-old suspect was found with dagga that has weight of 15,25kg with a street value of R15.000.

"Both suspects have been charged with dealing in dagga," he said.

"The two suspects will appear before the Butterworth Magistrate Court on Tuesday."
