25 year-old Tsomo man gets 20 years imprisonment for raping relative

The Tsomo Regional Magistrate Court on Thursday sentenced Phakade Sobhekwa, 25, to twenty years behind bars, after the court convicted him of raping his 18 year-old relative.

According to Eastern Cape police, Sobhekwa forced the victim to his home on 7 March, this year, at Ngcisinde Village, Ngqamakhwe, where he then raped her.

The victim was on her way to the local shops when he met the accused.

A case of rape was opened at Ngqamakwe Police Station. Butterworth Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS), which acted swiftly and arrested the accused.
