99% of offer sold at penultimate mohair sale

The penultimate sale of the 2014 mohair winter season took place in Port Elizabeth on Tuesday. There was a total of 109 471 kilograms on offer of which 99% was sold.

Mohair South Africa said in a statement that the offering consisted of “good quality” overall, “with some very good individual clips. The average market indicator gained 5% on the previous sale to close at R185.62 a kilogram.

“There was very good interest in the stronger end of the clip, with buyers competing strongly for the good quality of offer.

With only one sale left for this season, exporters are securing their stock supply for the pending off-season.

The last winter sale will take place on Tuesday December 2. - metrominutes
