A win against the Lions will be a much needed confidence boost - Hendricks

APRIL 24, 2015

Toyota Free State Cheetahs wing, Cornal Hendricks, has said that winning their Super Rugby match against the Emirates Golden Lions this weekend will be a much needed confidence boost.

The Cheetahs started their 2015 Super Rugby season off well, beating the Cell C Shark 35-29 in Durban, followed by a 25-24 win over the Blues at Free State stadium.

Since then, they have lost six of their last seven matches, and are hoping that their game against the Lions will help turn thing around for them.

“The loss against the Reds last weekend was a big blow, but the boys are determined to carry on and return to winning ways,” Hendricks said.

“The Lions are playing good brand of attacking rugby... the type of game plan we like to play, so it’s going to be an exciting match this weekend.

“We’ll need to build momentum on attack, and be effective on defence. We need to make hard tackles, win the battle at the gain line and get the upper hand at the breakdown. If we can win those battles on the field, we’ll put ourselves in a very good position,” he added.
