Abducted PE toddler found in Fort Beaufort

UPDATE: SUSPECT TO APPEAR IN COURT ON MONDAY AS PE TODDLER IS REUNITED WITH MOM

The three-year-old girl, who was allegedly abducted by her mother's ex-boyfriend in June has reportedly been found and her alleged abductor in now in police custody.

Roxanne Unathi Stuurman disappeared on the afternoon of 10 June.

It is alleged that the young girl was taken to Kenako Mall, Struandale, Port Elizabeth, by her mother’s ex-boyfriend, Lubabalo Galela, at about 13:50.

After two hours, the mother tried to contact the 28-year-old man, but his phone was off.

He later called the mother back and promised to bring the child back home, but he never kept his promise.

Galela is not the child's biological father.

On 11 June, the young girl was reported missing at Algoa Park SAPS by her mother.

Algoa Park Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) members visited various addresses in Zwide, Soweto-on-Sea and Missionvale including the man’s working premises in search of the man and/or the missing child without success. 

Police have now confirmed that one arrest has been made after the man was tracked to a house in Fort Beaufort last night.
