Adelaide man arrested for raping teen

MARCH 9, 2015

Eastern Cape police on Saturday arrested a 20-year-old suspect in Adelaide for raping a 14-year-old girl.

It is alleged that the suspect met the victim when she went to a local spaza shop last Tuesday and took her to a nearby house where he allegedly raped her.

Cradock Police Spokesperson Warrant Officer Louis Stone says after the incident the victim told a friend but refrained from reporting it to her mother and the police.

On Saturday the victim’s brother noticed that something was wrong with his sister and questioned her. It was then that the victim reported the incident to her mother and then to the police.

The suspect will appear at the Adelaide Magistrates Court later on Monday.
