Adidas to help Man United sign Messi
Manchester United’s new sponsors, Adidas, may help the team to sign Barcelona star, Lionel Messi.
United have joined Chelsea in a battle to sign the 27-year-old forward, after announcing that he would be willing to undergo a transfer deal worth £200 million.
The Red Devils and Chelsea are both having difficulty pulling the money together, with Britain’s Mirror newspaper reporting that the former may be receiving extra money from their new sponsors. Adidas currently sponsors Messi and will be supplying United with their shirts next season.
Other problems that could prevent the four-time Ballon d'Or winner’s transfer to Old Trafford, includes the country’s Financial Fair Play rules, which restricts the spending of all professional division players.
