AIDC Eastern Cape now separate entity

OCTOBER 10, 2014

The appointment of an MD of the Automotive Industry Development Centre (AIDC) Eastern Cape is “the final step in the full decoupling of the two regional AIDC entities”.

The AIDC said in a statement that, AIDC Eastern Cape, fully owned by the Eastern Cape Development Corporation (ECDC) had become a separate legal entity to its sister company AIDC Gauteng in 2012.

It said the appointment of Lance Schultz as MD was the “final step in the full decoupling,” although the two entities would continue a closer working relationship.

The aim of the AIDC, an agency of Provincial Government, is to assist the auto-motive industry “to become more globally competitive”.

Schultz served as Manager: Supply Chain and Supplier Development at AIDC for 12 years and has more than 20 years’ experience in the sector. - metrominutes
