Aliwal North police arrest two men for possession of drugs worth R2 360

Aliwal North K9 Unit arrested two men, aged between 16 and 43 years-old, for possession of drugs, on Tuesday.

According to the police, members of Aliwal NorthK9 conducted an intelligence driven operation at Steynburg and Burgersdorp, where they arrested the two suspects at their homes.

“The first suspect, aged 16 years-old, was arrested at his homestead at Steynburg while the other suspect, aged 43 years-old, was arrested in Burgersdorp,” said police spokesperson, Captain Ursula Roelofse.

She added that, the police confiscated 14 mandrax tables and 430 grams of dagga with an estimated street value of R2 360.

The suspects were detained at Burgersdorp police station and will appear in court soon.
