Phicor Architectural Products appointed by main contractor, O’Steyn Construction, now on their 3rd major project of this sort working closely with the  Imizi Housing in the Willowdene suburb of Port Elizabeth supplying of all-purpose manufactured windows, doors & HDG security gates.

The Port Elizabeth-based company, which has been in business since 2011 and carries a unique range of products for both residential and commercial use – including glazed facades, curtain wall systems, roof lights and, swing and sliding door systems, just to name a few, has been involved in various similar projects throughout the province.

The Imizi Housing project, with 400 rental apartments, is an ideal housing solution that provides affordable, high quality rental accommodation for low income dwellers, whose household incomes ranges between R2 500 and R7 500 per month.

These units are in three to four storey blocks and vary in size from 30m² studio apartments to 43m² one bedroom units to 54m² two bedroom apartments.

With over 20 tons of architectural metal been processed, 2600m² of glass and 1440m² of composite aluminium panelling, not to mention the 3900m of steel tube for the security gates, it has been a challenging but exciting project for the Phicor team.

All products have been manufactured in house at their factory in Sidwell, Port Elizabeth.
