American entrepreneur Ivan Juzang addresses Walter Sisulu University students on business

MARCH 5, 2015

Entrepreneurial spirits lying dormant could be awakened as a world-renowned businessman readies himself to engage with students at WSU’s Nelson Mandela Drive Site in Mthatha this Thursday.

At the epicentre of this improbable coup is the WSU National Association for Democratic Lawyers (NADEL) Student Chapter launched at the Mthatha campus in 2014.

The event is one of the organisation’s endeavours to help empower communities by educating them about a wide variety of issues such as business.

NADEL’s ambition has paid off, managing to secure the services of American entrepreneur Ivan Juzang, founder and president of Motivational Educational Entertainment (MEE) Productions, who will be giving a public lecture at the NMD auditorium.

Juzang will be casting a close eye on various key aspects of business administrative processes such as human resources, operations, cost accounting and revenue forecasting.

“This is a fantastic feather in our cap as a body. Bringing someone of such calibre and stature to come talk to our students and the community is no mean feat. We hope students appreciate how big a deal this is and come out to listen,” says NADEL secretary Chuma Gqetywa.

Juzang has been the primary researcher on MEE's national research projects, including The MEE Report: Reaching the Hip-Hop Generation (published in 1992), This Is My Reality-The Price of Sex: An Inside Look at Black Urban Youth Sexuality (published in 2004), and its most recent, Moving Beyond Survival Mode: Promoting Mental Wellness and Resiliency as a Way to Cope with Urban Trauma (published in 2009).

Over the past 15 years, Juzang has become a leading expert in the communications industry, and has an exceptional knowledge of the public health, social and educational issues impacting underserved communities (like the former Transkei).
