Another badly decomposed body discovered in Bethelsdorp

FEBRUARY 8, 2016

Another decomposed body, this time of an unknown man, was found in the bushes next to Damaskus farm, in Booysens Park, in Bethelsdorp, in Port Elizabeth's Northern Areas, on Friday morning, local police announced on Monday.

"Two children were walking in the bushes next to the river when they found the body. The body was in the advanced stage of decomposition," said police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu.

"The identity of the person is unknown at this stage. The deceased was clad in black tracksuit pants, red T-shirt and black takkies."

The body was found in the same vicinity as that of another body, which was found on Monday last week. That body was later identified as that of teenager, Shannon Fourie, who had been reported missing in December 2015.

"Anyone who can assist police in identifying this person, locating his next of kin or may suspect of any person that may have been missing is asked to contact D/W/O Johan Ferreira at  SAPS Bethelsdorp on 041 4043004/5 or Crime Stop No on 08600 10111," Colonel Naidu said.
