Another cold front with winds, rains and snow expected on Friday
A well-defined cold front is expected to reach the Eastern Cape Region by late morning on Friday, the South African Weather Services' Port Elizabeth office has warned.
"This will be accompanied by gale force winds, very cold temperatures and showers of rain over the southern parts (South of Somerset East/Hogsback between Plettenberg Bay and the Kei River)," said Garth Sampson, SA Weather Services Client Liaison Officer for the Eastern Cape.
"Snow is expected on the southern mountains and will include Baviaanskloof Mountains, Tsitsikama Mountains, Amatola/Winterberg Mountains around Hogsback.
"Conditions will gradually start to clear from the west on Saturday."
Sampson said that temperatures are expected to remain low over the weekend and are only expected to recover towards Monday, when north westerly winds are expected warm things up

Wednesday coldest morning in Port Elizabeth this year
"This morning was the coldest for the year in Port Elizabeth," Sampson said.
"The mercury dropped to 1.9° C just before sunrise. In fact it is the coldest since 2014 when the temperature dropped to 1.4° C. It still need to drop to below -0.7° C to become an all-time record."
