Another high ranking Eskom executive departs

BY CHARL BOSCH - JUNE 25, 2015

Struggling power utility Eskom has announced that it has parted ways with its suspended Finance Director, Tsholofelo Molefe.

A member of the state-owned parastatal’s executive since 2005, Molefe’s exit is the latest in a series of departures following the stepping down of CEO Tshediso Matona last month, and Group Executive Dan Marokane three weeks ago, with both having been placed on suspension by then Chairman Zola Tsotsi in March, for failing to prevent the implementing of controlled rolling blackouts due to outdated infrastructure and a backlog in maintenance.

No reason for Molefe’s departure was given with Eskom merely stating that the decision was “mutually agreed [on]” and that she “was never suspected of any negligence, misconduct or wrongdoing”.
