Another major milestone: On Line Personnel celebrates 25 years of delivering excellence in recruitment

Over the past 25 years, Port Elizabeth-based recruitment consultancy, On Line Personnel, has established an enviable reputation for meeting the Permanent and Temp recruitment needs of some of SA’s top blue chip companies and placing candidates in various careers, both nationally and internationally.

“I began my career in recruitment in 1988, with an international recruitment consultancy and was very fortunate to discover my passion at a young age. After five years at the consultancy, I was headhunted to join On Line Personnel as a Partner and later went on to buy out my co-partner and become the sole owner,” explained owner, Claire Gillmer-Zonneveld. One of Claire’s career highlights was being nominated as one of the top five recruiters in SA.

 “25 years ago, we certainly did not have the ‘online’ technology - I believe that the name was ‘borne’ more out of being ‘on line’ or available a phone call away. The majority of our business is done through face-to-face interviews or alternatively, if a candidate or client is based out of PE, via Skype. In saying that, we certainly do make use of technology at its highest level, but one can never replace the one-on-one personal service,” explained Claire.

“I firmly believe that I have been extremely blessed! Besides the normal hard work and service excellence, I have an incredible team of staff and fantastic clientele.  From our early days, where we only had one staff member, we now have a staff compliment of nine. From our humble beginnings in tiny offices in Central, On Line Personnel now owns its own business premises in Newton Park,” she described.

In celebrating this major milestone, the company has re-vamped its offices with new colours both inside and out and also expanded their head count, by employing an additional Recruitment Consultant to the team.

On what makes On Line Personnel a leader in its space, she explained; “I do believe it is our passion, our cast iron integrity, good business ethics, service excellence, well-trained, motivated and professional staff and the fact that we personalise our service in order to understand and exceed our clients expectations and meet their specialised recruitment requirements. 

“We do not handle people as production lines; we ensure that we never lose the value of that personal touch. Building people by treating them correctly and professionally and giving them hope and opportunities by finding them their ideal position, is a wonderful gift.”

She said she was mostly excited about the fact that many of their clients have become long-term partners, who now use their services exclusively.
