Another R59 Million For Work On PE Airport Runways

A further R59 million is to be spent on the rehabilitation of Runway 08/26 RESA and strip compliance Transport Minister Dipuo Peters has told the National Assembly.

Replying to a written question, the Minister said the work was being carried out to “improve the safety and compliance of the runway,” adding that the work would start in November this year and be completed by May 2015.

Peters revealed earlier, in reply to another written question that R30.6 million had been spent on the rehabilitation of the secondary runway.

The Minister said that the work had been carried out to “improve compliance and the structural capability of the runway,” adding that the work had started in May last year and completed in November. - MetroMinutes.
