Beautiful views: Living it up at The Hampton Exclusive Guesthouse

I travel to East London on business on a monthly basis and on my recent trip; I decided to try a new accommodation offering. Along the city’s Marine Terrace in Quigney, I found The Hampton, which is truly a breath of fresh air.

Newly-renovated and open since December last year, this 4-Star establishment blends the original architecture with a modern twist – finished predominantly in white with splashes of colour in the furniture and artwork.

On arrival, I was welcomed by the manager, Leanne McKinley, who is passionate about this new venture. And rightly so - The Hampton literally stands out amongst the architecture upon the Quigney hill, overlooking a Virgin Active Gym and the Indian Ocean beyond. Free access to the gym is available at one voucher per stay per guest.

Close by are some of the city’s finest restaurants, including Grazia, as well as other shops. There is also secure parking for guests and 24-hour security at the centre across the road for your added peace of mind.

The Hampton boasts 15 well-appointed rooms with your choice of Luxury Suites; Standard Rooms; Sea Facing Suites or Self Catering Suites. They offer between twin and Queen-sized comfortable beds among other amenities. The Self-catering suites are fully-equipped for longer stays with kitchenettes and can comfortably accommodate four people per unit.

Their elegant, modern-styled breakfast room is located on the first floor and serves a wide variety of cereals; breads, coffee and juice with a choice of Full English or omelette to ready you for the day while enjoying the sunrise. I heard they will be serving lunches and dinners soon.

There is also a communal entertainment lounge and braai area which is available for guests to use at the end of the day to unwind and relax. A great feature is the free, unlimited Wi-Fi, which always helps to set an establishment apart.

I found my stay extremely comfortable and the staff very friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere is informal and relaxed, without losing its professional edge, and you are made to feel part of the family at every opportunity.

Being situated in Quigney makes The Hampton exceptionally convenient, when it comes to meeting clients, as it is so well-situated to travel anywhere in East London within a few minutes.

I recommend you try The Hampton on your next business trip or perhaps a sporting weekend stay. For more information, call 043 722 7924, email [email protected] or visit
