Bethelsdorp gangster expected in Port Elizabeth court for murder and attempted murder

A 26 year-old suspected gangster is expected to appear before the Port Elizabeth Magistrate's Court on Monday, on a charge of murder and two counts of attempted murder, after he was arrested by Bethelsdorp detectives on Friday afternoon in Sanctor Bethelsdorp - near his home.

"It is alleged that on 17 July 2015, at about 20:15, a group of people were standing at a fire in the driveway of a house in Catherine Street Salsonevale.

"At the time, an unknown suspect/s approached the group and started shooting at them," Port elizabeth police said.

"Denise Rollison (28 years) was fatally wounded in her head.

"Her friends Wayne Carelse (25) and Nazier Louwtjie (27) were struck in the face and leg respectively."

In August 2015, Jody Williams (24 years) was arrested and charged for murder and two counts of attempted murder.

He appeared in court and remains in police custody. The case is remanded to 26 January 2016.

"Investigations revealed that a second suspect was sought after  for the abovementioned incident. The suspect was implicated in the murder and attempted murder cases.

"Both suspects belong to the same gang."
