Bevin Samuels is back to steal hearts at the Boardwalk

NOVEMBER 29, 2016

Hearts melted each time he smiled innocently and did one of his signature poses, named the “salute” and the “fly.” When he opened his mouth to sing, the audience went ballistic. Bevin Samuels (19), the youngest Idols contestant to have entered this world-renowned competition this year, brings his talent back home in December when he performs on the Boardwalk Amphitheatre’s stage.

From Port Elizabeth, this dynamic young man discovered his passion for music at a very young age.  Matriculating in 2015, he decided to take a gap year and pursue a career in music. The moment he was the judges’ pick for the Idols Top 10, Samuels realized that he had made the correct choice.

Idols fans and viewers in Port Elizabeth sat glued to their television screens every Sunday in support of their “homeboy” and in anticipation waited to see the results, week after week.  Every time he was chosen to move forward in the competition, Twitter would be bombarded with tweets from Samuels’ fans, and Facebook flooded with messages of support and love for him. Despite his many star qualities and votes from all over South Africa, he had to exit the competition on the evening that the Top 5 was revealed.

“Idols fans can look forward to seeing him live on home soil,” says Vuyiswa King, Events & Entertainment Manager of The Boardwalk.

Having performed at functions and events ranging from corporates, to nightclubs, charity shows, beauty pageants as well as church events, Samuels is no stranger to the stage. Although his voice is unique and easily identifiable, Samuels is a very versatile artist and delivers performances ranging from very high-energy, up-tempo dance music to laid back lounge or dinner-style music.

Do not miss the chance to see this this young, dynamic artist who has already made his mark on the entertainment industry, perform a wide array of songs, from 70s Motown and soul hits to the latest chart toppers.  He will be on fire on the Boardwalk’s Amphitheatre stage on 3 December at 19h00. Tickets range from R100 to R180 per person and can be booked through Computicket.
