Black Friday South Africa: Where to get Black Friday deals in South Africa
If observations from last year's Black Friday shopping are anything to go by, then this American shopping tradition, is also now very much South African. But, not all shops have adopted Black Friday, which falls on the 25th of November 2016, (understandably - its a tough economy), so we have compiled a short list of stores near you that will be offering massive Black Friday deals.
'Massive' is only used a relative term as some South Africans have accused local stores of not fully abiding by the true spirit of Black Friday. Apparently, the American tradition of Black Friday has been to heavily discount prices on goods so as to empty the shelves and create space for Christmas specials.
Originally, most Black Friday deals and discounts in the US will then be around 40 and 80%. In South Africa, 10% Black Friday discounts are still acceptable for some reason or the other - there are however local stores that have signalled that on Black Friday 2016, they will carry up to 80% off deals.
Here is a list of shops and brands participating in Black Friday 2016:
- Bargain Buys
- Pick n Pay
- South African Airways
- Clicks (online only)
- Total Sports
- Sidi South Africa
- Atlas Security
- Sunglass Hut
