Blasting may affect traffic between Mthatha and Port St Johns

The South African National Roads Agency Ltd (SANRAL) would like to notify road users of travel delays on the R61 between Mthatha and Port St Johns near the Ntsimbini Village (approximately 65km from Mthatha and approximately 20km from Port St Johns) on Tuesday, 25 August 3PM.

The road will be closed and motorists can expect a delay of approximately 30 minutes from 2:55pm to 3:25pm as a result of blasting to accommodate roadworks and engineering.

Stop and Go sections are planned and motorists are requested to plan their trips accordingly and be cautious when making use of the road.

NOTICE 2

On Wednesday, 26 August at 3pm, road users can expect delays on the R61 between Mthatha and Port St Johns near the Majola Tea Turnoff, (approximately 50km from Mthatha and approximately 30km from Port St Johns).

The road will be closed and motorists can expect a delay of approximately 30 minutes from 2:55pm to 3:25pm.  

Stop and Go sections are planned and motorists are requested to plan their trips accordingly and be cautious when use of the road.
