Blue Bulls plan for semi-final game

The Vodacom Blue Bulls will have to “impose their own game plan” if they want to beat the DHL Western Province Stormers for their Currie Cup semi-final match at the Newlands Stadium on Saturday.

Their main aim is to dominate their opponents upfront, in order to keep away from dangerous backs, such as Cheslin Kolbe, Juan de Jongh and Seabelo Senatla, who have good attacking skills.

The Bulls had lost 41-17 to the Stormers Newlands on the 16th of August in their first Currie Cup match and then lost 23-18 to Western Province at Loftus Versfeld a few weeks later.

However, Bulls captain, Deon Stegmann has said that the battle between the forwards will be their winning move.

"It will play a big role. The team whose pack dominates will in all likelihood be the team which emerges victorious," Steggman told Beeld.

"It is one of our strengths, but WP's pack is also good this year. As always, it will be hard as nails."
