BY NATALI IVERSON - NOVEMBER 13, 2014

The Springboks and the Proteas will be facing one another in a Twenty20 match at the Wanderers in Johannesburg next month, as part of the Nelson Mandela Legacy Cup to mark the first anniversary of the late president’s death. The match will also help raise funds for the Nelson Mandela Foundation.

“We would love to be a part of honouring the great legacy of Madiba. It is fantastic to be able to be afforded that opportunity. We have teamed up with Nelson Mandela Foundation and also the Springboks,” Cricket South Africa CEO, Haroon Lorgat said.

“The Proteas playing against the Springboks is an attraction, all the players love it, the fans want to see that, and at the same time if we can make a contribution to the foundation to ensure that the legacy of Nelson Mandela continues. It will be a privileged to be part of that.”

Fans will be entertained by local artists during the day and will have the opportunity to get autographs from their favourite players.
