Bondesio and van Rensburg retire

BY NATALI IVERSON - DECEMBER 4, 2014

Xerox Golden Lions Scrumhalf, Michael Bondesio as well as wing Deon van Rensburg, have announced that they will both be retiring from professional rugby.

Both players have been struggling with injuries and have decided to “call it a day.”

Bondesio (29), who has been playing for the Lions since 2011, did not participate in the 2014 rugby season as he was struggling with a calf and knee injury which he sustained in July.

van Rensburg (32) has also been suffering from a rib injury, making him unavailable to the team.

The official Golden Lions website announced their early retirement last night and has wished them well for the future.
