Mthatha police have arrested three suspects in connection with the murder of a young couple whose bodies were found last week.

Speaking in a statement, spokesperson Lt Colonel Mzukisi Fatyela said that the men, aged 19-22, were taking into custody at around 23h30 last night by members of the local detectives and intelligence officers, following the deaths of Jacqueline Miller and Carl George, both 20, whose bodies were discovered at the Mthatha Dam on Sunday.

Fatyela also stated that a set of car keys and clothing items were found in the suspect’s possession. No cause of death has yet been determined.

The men are expected to appear in the Mthatha Magistrate’s Court tomorrow on a charge of murder.
