British Airways wins another prestigious award

NOVEMBER 3, 2016

British Airways, operated by Comair, was recognised as the top airline in the Airline Industry Category at the recent 16th Annual Ask Africa Orange Index awards ceremony held on Tuesday night.

The awards, established in 2001, are regarded as the broadest and most widely-referenced service excellence benchmark in South Africa, covering over 32 industries and 155 companies. Their extensive sample of 33 000 interviews, provides a reliable yardstick for customer service benchmarking and social profiling.

Luane Lavery, Brand Communications Manager for British Airways, says: “These awards are very encouraging, as they show that our investment in excellent service is providing a great customer experience for our travellers.

“It’s also gratifying that this accolade comes in the same year that Comair celebrates 70 years of uninterrupted, profitable operation, as well as the commemoration of our 20-year franchise partnership with British Airways.”

Lavery adds that Comair’s airline and hospitality brands continue to garner accolades. Earlier this year, kulula.com was named the Best African Low-Cost Airline for 2016 and the SLOW International Lounge at OR Tambo International Airport was awarded the Best Business Airport Lounge for 2016 at the Business Traveller Africa Awards.

British Airways and kulula.com also dominated the Domestic Airline: Business category of the 2016 Sunday Times Top Brands survey, with first and second place respectively, whilst kulula.com was rated the top South African low cost carrier, in the SA Customer Satisfaction Index (SAcsi) for the second consecutive year.
