Chiefs beat Pirates in MTN8 finals

Kaizer Chiefs are still undefeated after beating arch-rivals, Orlando Pirates, 1-0 in the Soweto derby MTN8 finals at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Saturday.

Chief’s assistant coach, Doctor Khumalo, has said that he could not understand why his team did not follow instructions when entering the second half of the game, instead of, as he remarked, “parking the bus in the back”.

“We dominated the first 45 minutes, but we took the foot off the pedal in the second half,” said Khumalo.

"It was a very tough one, Pirates are a good team, they made us run, but I must say it was a good plan by the technical team”.

The Amakhosi now hold the trophy against their Soweto rivals, and will continue in the ABSA Premiership on Saturday against Maritzburg United at the FNB stadium.
