Chiefs defender arrested for assault
Kaizer Chiefs midfielder, George Lebese, turned himself in to police on Tuesday, after reportedly abusing his girlfriend and damaging her car.
"The incident happened on Sunday in Silverton, Pretoria, where he allegedly assaulted the girlfriend and damaged her vehicle," Gauteng police Lieutenant, Kay Makhubela said.
The 26-year-old is expected to appear in the Pretoria Magistrate's Court soon on charges of assault and damage to property.
“Kaizer Chiefs have been informed that George Lebese has been accused of being involved in an incident,” the club wrote on its website.
“The player has handed himself over to the relevant authorities and the matter is being attended to.”
