Chippa keen to sign Sangweni on permanent deal
Chippa United are currently negotiating with Mamelodi Sundowns in order to sign over Thamsanqa Sangweni on a permanent basis.
The Port-Elizabeth based side have had their eye on Sangweni for quite some time and are hoping that he will sign the contract.
Sangweni is currently on loan from Sundowns and has been enjoying every game since joining the team.
“Chippa United are interested in keeping Thami Sangweni at the club on a permanent deal. The player is back to his best and enjoying his football again, thanks to Chippa United,” revealed an unnamed source.
"He is one of the players that were with Bafana Bafana at the Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea, which is proof that he has been performing well.
“The club has started the negotiations with Sundowns about that,” the source added.
Sangweni helped Bafana Bafana to victory against Ivory Coast, and claimed the Nelson Mandela Challenge, but was kept on the bench by national coach Shakes Mashaba during the 2015 AFCON tournament.
