Chokka fisherman taken to hospital after slipping on deck

A 30-year old fisherman from Despatch was taken to hospital on Sunday afternoon, after injuring his back while fishing for bait aboard a chokka boat.

In short a statement, National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) spokesperson Craig Lambinon said the man started complaining of extreme back pains after slipping on the wet deck of the vessel Septa.

NSRI medics were able to stabilise the crewman and bring him to shore, where after he was transported to hospital for further treatment.
