Coetzee ready for the semi-finals

BY NATALI IVERSON - OCTOBER 14, 2014

DHL Western Province Stormers coach, Allister Coetzee, is hoping that fullback, Jaco Taute, will be fit for the Currie Cup semi-final match against the Vodacom Blue Bulls at Newlands on Saturday.

Taute suffered a rib injury against the Toyota Free State Cheetahs on the 4th of October and has not played since.

"Jaco Taute is our only injury concern at the moment and we'll give him a chance until Thursday when a decision will be taken," Coetzee said.

He added that Tiaan Liebenberg will not be available for selection this week.

Springbok Sevens players, Seabelo Senatla and Justin Geduld will be returning to Cape Town for the game, boosting the Stormers line-up further.

"We're having a good look at Senatla's condition because he's played far more games than was set out for him this season," Coetzee said.

"They'll both start training straight away so that they are integrated back into the team routine as soon as possible. They're keen to play Currie Cup rugby again."

Fullback Cheslin Kolbe and lock Jean Kleyn, have been training following their recent injuries. Coetzee has said that it is likely both players will be ready for the clash.

The Stormers coach added that he still had doubts on the arrangement of the bench as well as if he should add an additional forward for the game.

"Players like Pat Howard have played themselves into contention for semi-final inclusion and then some players like Kobus van Wyk are in really good form, which gives me a couple of options.

"I'm 100 percent sure about the starting line-up but my mind is about 95 percent made up about the bench. I have not yet decided about the bench split but we'll pick a team that will be best prepared for what they're up against."
