Controlled blasting on the R61 in the Eastern Cape

The South African National Roads Agency Limited (SANRAL) would like to notify travellers that there will be controlled blasting on the R61 from Baziya to Mthatha today at 3pm Wednesday, 14 September 2016.

The controlled blasting will take place at Borrow Pit 2 near the Tabase and Ncingane Villages.

“The controlled blasting is for the upgrading of the National Route R61, Section 7, from Baziya (Km 12 road marker) to Mthatha (Km 51 road marker) phase 1 project.

 “SANRAL apologises for any inconvenience caused,” said Mbulelo Peterson, SANRAL Southern Region’s Regional Manager.
