Cradock police officers were on Tuesday commended for their recent success in the arrest of car hijackers coming to the town and sending them back to Port Elizabeth to face the law.

"Members of the K9 Unit in Cradock together with the Highway Patrol and members from 'D' relief at the station managed to arrest four male suspects, who were on route to Cradock with vehicles that were stolen in Port Elizabeth on 18 August.

"Three vehicles were recovered," Eastern Cape police said in a statement.

"The suspects were transferred back to Port Elizabeth where the case was registered.

"The swift action of the members resulted in the arrests."
