CVT added for Nissan Qashqai
Hot on the heels of the refreshed Juke, Nissan South Africa has added a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) option for its petrol powered Qashqai crossover.
Previously available only on the 1.6 dCi Acenta, the CVT can now be have on turbocharged 1.2-litre DIG-T Acenta model as an option over the standard six-speed manual. Power figures remains unchanged from that of the manual with the engine spinning out 85 kW and 190 N.m of torque.
Performance figures are down from the manual with Nissan claiming a top speed of 173 km/h (185 km/h) and a 0-100 km/h sprint in 12.9 sec (10.9). Combined fuel consumption and CO2 emission are also unchanged from the manual at 6.2 L /100 km and 144g /km.
Mirroring the manual’s list of standard equipment, the CVT features 17-inch alloy wheels, daytime running LED headlights, electric windows all around, cruise control, six speaker sound system with CD / MP3 / USB and aux input, dual zone climate control, Bluetooth, ABS with EBD, BAS and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), six airbags, Active Ride Control and Hill Assist.
As with the manual, the CVT includes a six year / 150 000 km warranty and a five year / 90 000 km service plan.
