DA To ‘Drill’ ANC On Better Water Services In Middelburg And Cradock

MARCH 26, 2015

The Democratic Alliance (DA) in the Eastern Cape says that it will visit the Karoo region on Friday to 'drill' the African National Congress (ANC) on better water services.

"On Friday, 27 March 2015, and in line with SA Human Rights celebrations and South Africa’s Water Week, Nosimo Balindlela MP and Kobus Botha MPL will be visiting the Karoo Midlands towns of Cradock and Middleburg," Kobus Botha, a Member of the Provincial Legislature (MPL) for the Karoo Midlands said in a statement.

"They will be accompanied by DA councillors, conducting oversight visits relating to water infrastructure problems as residents continuously experience sporadic water supply outages.

"The citizens residing within the jurisdiction of Chris Hani District Municipality (CHDM) have experienced numerous service delivery problems since the district municipality took over the water function from the local municipalities on 1 July 2014 as a Water Service Authority (WSA)."
