DA to picket Zuma visit outside City Hall

The Democratic Alliance (DA) in Nelson Mandela Bay has announced it would be picketing outside City Hall on Thursday morning in response to the Metro dismissing its application to protest the imminent arrival of President Jacob Zuma.

“The DA was due to hold a mass protest against Zuma's corruption tomorrow in front of City Hall but this was blocked by the municipality,” DA Eastern Cape leader Athol Trollip said in short statement.

“Danny Jordaan’s ANC-led municipality is protecting Jacob Zuma from public action against his corruption and constitutional abuse”.

Zuma is expected to arrive in the Metro later today ahead of the party’s manifesto launch at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Saturday.
