Danny Jordaan resigns from Nelson Mandela Development Agency Board

MAY 20, 2015

The Nelson Mandela Development Agency (MBDA) on Tuesday confirmed that Dr Danny Jordaan had resigned from its Board.

“Yes he has resigned from his voluntary position on the board of the MBDA,” said Luvuyo Bangazi, Marketing and Communications Manager at Mandela Bay Development Agency.

Jordaan was appointed to the MBDA Board in September 2014.

“No reasons were cited but I guess Monday’s announcement kinds of puts in perspective. As Mayor, he will ultimately be responsible for the appointment of directors to the MBDA board,” said Bangazi.

Jordaan, who is also current South African Football Association (SAFA) President, was announced as the replacement for 83-year-old Benson Fihla, who was appointed Executive Mayor of the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro in 2013.
