DA's Trollip leads 'Gangs Must Fall' March to PE's Northern Areas

The Democratic Alliance (DA) in the Nelson Mandela Bay, led by DA Eastern Cape leader and Mayoral candidate for the 2016 Local Government Elections, Athol Trollip, is expected to lead a march dubbed Gangs Must Fall to the City's troubled Northern Areas on Thursday morning.

According to the DA, Nelson Mandela Bay residents are sick and tired of ongoing crime and gangsterism and have expressed their desire to present the DA with a memorandum of demands.

"As the DA's Mayoral Candidate, Trollip will accept the memorandum of demands and address marchers on the DA's community-based strategy to root out crime and gangsterism," it said.

"Trollip will be joined by PE Northern Areas Constituency Leader, Edmund van Vuuren MPL.

The Gangs Must Fall March will start at 273 Rensburg Street (Next to Arcadia Secondary School), Arcadia, at 11:00am and will end at the West End Library, St Benedicts Street, West End.

On Tuesday, the DA in the Nelson Mandela Bay also announced a 'Safe City' plan to root out crime, drugs and gangsterism in Port Elizabeth's troubled Northern Areas and the rest of the City. The DA calls it The Total Society Approach.
