Defensive signings at Chippa remain imminent

JULY 7, 2016

After the quartet of James Okwuosa, Walter Maponyane, Nkosinathi Mthiyane and Eric Chipeta that had left Chippa United, Head Coach Dan Malesela has proclaimed that he is eager to bolster their defence ahead of next season.

As the club’s pre-season kicked off on Tuesday, Malesela remains reluctant to say who the club have yet officially signed.

“Until I am given the official go-ahead, I can’t reveal which transfers we have completed. We have signed a few players and I am trying to beef up the defence,” Malesela told Goal.

Chippa, however, can confirm that they have added a new goalkeeper to the squad in Zama Dlamini who had been transferred from the Witbank Spurs in the National First Division.

On the list of new players that have joined the Chilli Boys in this transfer window, Dlamini joins the likes of Bongani Ndulula, Sizwe Mdlinzo, Paseka Mako and Tshwarelo Bereng at the Eastern Cape side.
