Department of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation in the Presidency hosts a Monitoring and Evaluation Conference in East London

The Department of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation in the Presidency will be co-hosting a Monitoring and Evaluation Conference together with the South African Monitoring and Evaluation Association (SAMEA), at Premier Hotel in East London.

The conference is scheduled for Tuesday in the afternoon.

Minister Jeff Radebe will make the keynote address officially opening the conference; also present will be the MEC of Local Government Fikile Xasa, Commissioner of Public Service in Eastern Cape Mafanya, Director General in the Presidency Dr Sean Phillips, Vice Chancellor of Fort Hare, Dr Mvuyo Tom and other partner guests.

The theme of the conference is “Professionalising of M&E for improved performance”.

The theme is in line with the NDP (National Development Plan), which states that ‘the main challenge has been unevenness in capacity that leads to uneven performance in the three spheres of government… thus, building state capacity is one of the most important steps to achieve developmental state.
