Design gets interactive at Decorex 2015
South Africa’s design and decorating talent will be on display in all its dazzling finery at this year’s edition of Decorex SA, the country’s premier three-part décor, design and lifestyle exhibition.
Among the impressive line-up of features on offer at Decorex 2015 is the eagerly anticipated Private Property Trend House, an interactive ‘house-scape’ curated by a cherry-picked collection of the country’s leading and emerging designers and offering show visitors the ultimate walk-through design experience.
Sponsored by Private Property, the country’s definitive online property resource, the Decorex Trend House installation will comprise an office, main bedroom and en-suite bathroom, a fully fitted open-plan kitchen and dining room leading to a lounge and patio. Launching at Decorex Durban in March and a feature at both Decorex Cape Town in April and Decorex Joburg in August, the Trend House will showcase the work of a trio of each city’s most exciting designers, not to mention a variety of additional suppliers meticulously selected for the outfitting of each room scene.
Says Sue Clarke, Head of Marketing at Private Property: “We have a great history with Decorex SA, having used the 2013 exhibition to launch our brand-new site,privateproperty.co.za, an all-encompassing property portal offering everything from buying trends and advice to a comprehensive database of agent and privately-marketed homes for sale or rent. Private Property will have a dedicated space within the Trend House installation at each of this year’s exhibitions, providing the perfect platform from which to engage our customers, with whom we normally only interact in the virtual domain; to have ‘real’ conversations and to communicate our core brand message: namely, that there’s a home for everyone at Private Property.”
Not only will visitors to the Decorex Private Property Trend House have access to property experts who can supply them with the very latest market-related facts and figures and give them hands-on advice on how to search for the home of their dreams, they will also be able to draw real-life design and decorating inspiration from the creative spaces on display, using this to transform the bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens and living areas of their own homes.
“We know that South Africans are proud homeowners, forever looking for new ways to improve their lifestyles and increase the value of their homes. The Trend House will give them all that, and more,” says Clarke, adding that Private Property will be offering visitors to Decorex 2015 a special on the 11th edition of Property Power magazine, an invaluable all-in-one guide to property in South Africa.
“What Decorex continues to show us is that this country has a wealth of talent capable of setting standards on a global design platform,” says Sian Gutstadt, General Manager of Decorex SA. “This collaboration with Private Property encourages local designers to flaunt their skills using the ultimate purpose-built shared space as their creative canvas.”
