Discover the Eastern and Western’s hidden gems with Scape2Cape
Who does not love to travel and see the world? The tourism industry worldwide is massive and South Africa remains one of the top destinations on the planet. Our country’s tourism industry is growing at a rate faster than the international average.
To make the most of this growth and the wonderful attractions in the area, a new Port Elizabeth-based tour company, Scape2Cape, has opened their doors with the intention of conducting tours in South Africa but with their main focus on the Eastern and Western Cape.
Scape2Cape is owned by Rikus Romer and his wife, Lorna, who are experienced, professional tour guides and accredited by Cathsseta as NQF Level 4 Eastern and Western Cape regional tour guides and who also share a passion for travelling and discovering South Africa.
Having travelled all over the world, the Romers believe that some of the best holiday destinations that they have seen are found right here on our doorstep. Hence - Scape to Cape.
Scape2Cape offer tours in 13-seater mini-buses throughout the Eastern and Western Cape. Their tours visit such well known destinations as Addo National Elephant Park, Garden Route, CapeTown, Hogsback and the Wild Coast.
For the convenience of their customers, Scape2Cape will collect their tour group from their hotel or airport and drop them off, at the end of the tour, at the required destination.
Scape2Cape will also accommodate personal requests and custom made tours. Having a thorough knowledge of the area, Rikus and Lorna will ensure that their tours are not only great fun but also very interesting and educational.
Personally, I am eager to join their Tribute to Mandela Tour, which visits Mandela’s home village of Qunu in the old Transkei. The first chapter of Mandela’s autobiography gives a wealth of information on this region and it is wonderful to visit the location of Mandela’s first school where he was given the name Nelson and also to see the rocks down which he and his friends used to slide. The local village kids still derive entertainment from this site today!
Scape2Cape is ideally placed to entertain and educate your family and friends visiting from abroad. Call Scape2Cape on 082 927 0564, visit www.scape2cape.com or like their Facebook page to find out how to stand a chance to win a weekend away for two including meals and activities with their upcoming competition.
