Dutywa granny bust for dealing in dagga

A 65-year-old granny from Dutywa was arrested midday on Monday at her shack in the town after police intelligence revealed that she was dealing in dagga, Eastern Cape police said.

The woman, who was not named, was found with dagga that has a weight of about 4kg and with a street value of R4 000.

"It is believed that the suspect had brought the dagga from Libode outside Mthatha.

"The suspect has been charged with dealing in dagga," the police said.

She will appear before the Dutywa Magistrate Court on Tuesday on a charge of dealing in dagga.

Butterworth Cluster Commander Brigadier Mbeko Sibidla has praised the Dutywa Police for their intelligence leading to the dagga bust.
