AUGUST 18, 2015

Dutywa Police arrested three suspects early on Monday morning in the GPO Informal Settlement, Dutywa, for stock theft and the possession of illegal firearms and ammunition.

Two suspects, aged 40 and 47, were arrested with 38 revolvers and meat believed to be from stock theft. A 19-year-old suspect was charged with possession of 47 rounds of ammunition.

The firearms will be sent for ballistic testing to establish if they were not used in the commission of other crimes around Dutywa.

The three suspects will appear before the Dutywa Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.

Butterworth Cluster Commander, Brigadier Stanley Sibhidla, congratulated the Dutywa Police for their sterling job.
