East London Host ECABO Open Boxing Championships this weekend


The Eastern Cape Amateur Boxing Organisation (ECABO) boxing Championships will be held at Robbie De Lange Hall, West Bank, East London on the 12th - 14th of June 2015.

The championships, according to ECABO General Secretary, Liwa Mlokoti, will pick a provincial team 

That will take part in the South African National Amateur Boxing Organisation (SANABO) Open Boxing Championships to be held in the Makana Local Municipality.

“The Elite Provincial Championships for males and females will be held in West Bank, East London in the Buffalo City Municipality. On Friday the 12th it will be arrival and registration. The first bout will start after the weigh-in at 11H00 on the 13th June 2015, “said Mlokoti.

 He added, “The Eastern Cape team that will be selected will compete at national (SANABO) championships to be held in Grahamstown, the Sarah Baartman District to coincide with Grahamstown National Arts Festival from the 7th - 11th July 2015.”

ECABO Assistant Secretary Mfuzo Dyira, who comes from the Makana Local Municipality, said they had prepared a strong team for the ECABO championships as they were hoping to have a bigger representation in the ECABO team to take part in SANABO.

According to Dyira, Coach Luyanda Dibela has prepared a very strong male and female teams that will do the City of Saints proud.
