JULY 10, 2015

East London police have reportedly launched a manhunt for five men, who are believed to have robbed a supermarket in Summerpride on Friday afternoon.

According to the police, the armed five suspects stormed into the supermarket and demanded money.

They then fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

No shots were fired during the robbery and no-one was injured.

However, the suspects are currently still at large.

The police are appealing to members of the public, who might have information on the robbers, to contact their nearest police station.

On Wednesday morning, five suspects, aged between 25 and 39 years, were arrested at Duncan Village following a robbery, which took place at a local shopping centre on the 28th of June.

Two of the suspects (in their late 20’s) are female employees at the shopping centre and are alleged to have orchestrated the robbery. Three men in their 30’s were also arrested and will be charged for armed robbery.
