Eastern Cape police need help identifying N2 accident victim

JULY 14, 2015

Eastern Cape police are appealing to the public to assist them in identifying a man, who died in a car accident on the N2 near Nanaga between Port Elizabeth and Grahamstown, on Monday. The man is believed to have been a hitchhiker in one of the vehicles.

Police did not say whether he was going to Grahamstown from Port Elizabeth or if he was coming from the Grahamstown direction towards PE.

The Nanaga section of the N2 highway was closed off to traffic for around three hours following the accident. Motorists travelling between Port Elizabeth and Grahamstown had to use the alternative route - via Paterson, before linking up again with the N2.

A 15-year-old girl, who was critically injured in the accident was airlifted to Greenacres Hospital in Port Elizabeth.
