Eastern Cape roads closed due to bad weather

JULY 31, 2015

The South African National Roads Agency (SANRAL) cautions road users to drive carefully during the bad weather as roads have either been closed due to snow.

The following roads have been closed:

  • The R61 Section 2 between Graaff-Reinet and Wapadsberg pass.
  • The N9 Loodsberg Pass, is also closed.

The R58 Barkly Pass is open to light vehicles. Heavy vehicles (or trucks) are advised not to use the R58. The road surface is wet and slippery and motorists are cautioned to drive carefully.

The N6 Section 4, between Queenstown and Jamestown, Penhoek pass has re-opened.

SANRAL is keeping a close eye on road conditions and possible road closures during this spell of bad weather and will notify the public through various media and our website www.nra.co.za of any updates.
